	A sound art project by Kalle Laar	aktuelle Präsentation: Tollwood Winter-Festival München

		Kalle Laar beschäftigt sich seit den 90er Jahren als Musiker und DJ mit experimentellen Klängen und sammelt als Sound-Historiker Tondokumente verschiedenster Art. Letztes Jahr sorgte er mit seinem Projekt "Calling the Glacier" für Aufsehen, mit dem er auch auf der Biennale 2007 vertreten war. Auf 2700 Metern Höhe installierte er ein Mikrofon am Vernagtferner Gletscher in den Ötztaler Alpen. Die Idee zu diesem Projekt kam Kalle Laar während einer gemeinsamen Expedition von Künstlern, Wissenschaftlern und Journalisten nach Island. Auch wenn er sich nicht als Umweltaktivist versteht, sind Gletscher für ihn ein Symbol des Klimawandels. 	... Vielleicht fehlt Laar, dem gewohnheitsmäßigen Mehrspartenartisten, auch einfach nur die Zeit für den Aufbau einer entsprechenden Geräuschegalerie. Als Klangkünstler verwirklichte er 2007 das Projekt "Calling the glacier" - unter der Telefonnummer 0049 / 89 / 37 91 40 58 kann seit damals dem Vernagtferner im Ötztal live beim Abschmelzen gelauscht werden: Klimawandel hörbar. Mit seiner Frau, der Lyrikerin Augusta Laar, betreibt der Lautexperimentator eine Unternehmung namens "Kunst oder Unfall": "Auf einem meterlangen Tisch liegt Zeugs, Kinderspielsachen, Folienschallplatten, peripheres Material. Alles wird zum Tönen gebracht." Man kann Laar für Kurzzeitvorträge oder DJ- Abende buchen, er ist als Produzent tätig und Herausgeber von bisher fünf "La Paloma" - CD - Kompilationen ... 	In the performances of his Temporary Soundmuseum the musician Kalle Laar cultivates a very special sound-culture. While Erik Satie wanted to furniture a room with his Musique d’Ameublement, Laar introduces a sustained imaginary movement into the room, having the effect that one constantly needs to reassure of the music. Because what he is magically elaborating at the mixing board, using LPs and electronics, are nothing but constantly dissolving structures and sounds. Every moment turns into a moment of passage. You can never feel sure. Like in a movie the sounds, imbedded songs, hints and quotations all follow a scenario that is thoroughly musical. The exotic stands besides the trivial transforming each other, not only sharpening your senses for nuances, fine sounds and differences but also relativating ones ideas about what is close and what is strange and foreign.
